Kampffmeyer Mühlen is representing the milling business of the VK Mühlen Group, Hamburg. The Group is active in the processing of cereals (wheat, durum wheat, rye, spelt, maize), rice and pulses, and produces flour, semolina and other cereal products in Germany, Poland and Hungary.
In 2004 the VK Mühlen Group generated a turnover of 460 million Euro. Milling products account for 70% and food ingredients for 30% of the revenues.
All in all, with its actually 14 flour mills Kampffmeyer is one of the leading millers in Europe. A tight net among the mills enables Kampffmeyer to offer customers strategic co-operations, to solve product application challenges, and to develop individual solutions.
By the application of entirely physical treatments, e.g. hydrothermal processing and air-classification, Kampffmeyer is refining classical milling products and produces unique tailor-made food ingredients.
Kampffmeyer is also well known for its successful developments in the area of health promoting cereal-based Functional Foods.
The central Kampffmeyer R&D department is responsible for establishing new and intensifying already existing contacts to national and international scientific as well as political opinion leaders. Kampffmeyer has been an active scientific partner in several European research projects.
Dr. Christoph Persin is the Head of Kampffmeyer’s central R&D. He is trained as a biologist. Before he joined Kampffmeyer in 2000 he held several positions in basic research, pharmaceutical and food industry.
